Flags Across America is an initiative to raise a 30 foot by 60 foot United States Flag
on a 130 foot flag pole in Jamestown, ND on the grounds of Fort Seward.
Ft. Seward was Jamestown's protector while the railroad was laid across this great land we call home.

The Flag's purpose is to boost patriotism, unite citizens, and build greater respect for our national symbol.
The flag site at Fort Seward, becomes an inspiring local venue where
community groups can hold patriotic events throughout the year.
Fort Seward also serves as an educational destination for school field trips.

* DO YOU WANT TO PROMOTE PATRIOTISM IN YOUR COMMUNITY?

* DO YOU WANT TO PRESERVE RESPECT FOR THE FLAG?

* DO YOU WANT TO GIVE THE GIFT TO YOUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN
THAT WILL COMMIT THEM TO RESPONSIBLE CITIZENSHIP?

We invite you to get involved in helping with this great patriotic act at Fort  Seward.
Fundraising will continue for flag replacement and maintenance, and for the Stutsman County Veteran's Memorial.

The idea for Flags Across America in Jamestown, came about on June 14th, Flag Day 2003 when members of the 20th Infantry Regiment traveled to Willey Park north of Aberdeen, South Dakota to help with a "Flags Across America" dedication. The size of the pole and flag was awe inspiring and the park was full of people attending the dedication. There were 250 Boy scouts, Cub Scouts, and Girl scouts holding the enormous flag over their heads as they brought it to the pole to be raised. Dignitaries spoke, bands played and the Fort Randall and the 20th Infantry historical reenactment groups fired their cannons in salute of it's initial raising.

This event made us dream of having a gigantic pole and flag at Fort Seward with all of the pomp and circumstance of a great flag rising with various dignitaries, groups, clubs, and organizations in attendance on Flag Day, June 14th, 2005. Once raised,  just visualize how you would gaze up at the that flag as you drive west on 5th street toward Fort Seward. Just imagine it!!!

Stats on the 30 foot x 60ft flag are 18 inches tall.
Jim Carlascio stands in front to show just how big.

What we are doing is asking for help to finance this project.
We are looking for donors to sponsor portions of the pole and flag as follows

FlagPole   $10,000
Bullet   $5,000
Stripes   $1,000
Stars   $   250

A plaque will be displayed to recognize donors.
All funds raised for this project, by the Fort Seward Reconstruction Committee and all in kind donations
will match the $100,000 secured for us by Senator Dorgan for historic site preservation.
